Taos First Baptist Church

Our Beliefs

At Taos First Baptist Church, we do not hold to creeds, confessions, or denominational statements of faith as the final word. We believe the Bible itself is our only authority, and we study it continually to guide what we believe and how we live.

We know that sincere Christians through the ages have sometimes misunderstood the Scriptures. When we find that our understanding has been lacking or incorrect, we gladly set aside tradition or prior conclusions and go with what the Word of God actually says.

We believe in the inerrancy and preservation of the Scriptures. We teach the Bible literally, recognizing the distinctions God has made in His dealings with mankind, and especially the unique message given through the Apostle Paul for today.

We believe salvation is a free gift by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We emphasize Bible study, fellowship, and personal growth in the knowledge of God’s Word above man-made programs or passing trends.
